PRACTICAL NOTE FOR EXSISTING LAW
This statute has broad applicability and expressly defines ‘health care provider’ as a physician among others, and thus, would benefit pharmacies and dispensing physicians alike. However, because the statute is limited to ‘discriminating against a preferred health care provider,’ it is not as strong as other ‘Any Willing Provider Law’ laws in its requirements.
